Our affair was a musical interlude
Our affairs became ajar with paperwork
and dishes and mopping and mowing
and little things that order the weeks
Time spent planning
Time spent doing
Meaningful family time
all these new motions seem innocuous
but tear at the fabric
Of once sweet caring touches.
